I noticed that sometimes the numbers are red and sometimes white and sometimes the red numbers are lower than the white numbers. Then I started asking myself. What if crits are actually white and the red numbers we see sometimes are non crits. What happens is that when you crit you do about half damage most of the time. It seems like this is worth testing boyz. Lmk what ya think.

I think you posted this in the wrong topic. This is not the upside-down...

Since that version it’s just been impossible to calculate cause you have 5 different mods causing reds. Even if you just added crit and measured the difference you still can be very off in the end result. On top of that when monster abilities were open crit got scaled again even though it wasn’t in the notes it was very visible. Gets more confusing when there’s an item that has more than one red causing mod like:

Ap and crit. Another thing that would be very nice to know the specifics on in the game.

Makes it harder, but not impossible to identify Critical Strike hits alone.

Ratios increase your chance of critical strike, so you test gear without any other mods that indicate RED, as there are NO STAT influence on those mods, armor pierce etc. So, in reality you can depict Ratio performance, then you could test with just Critical Strike items to see how much that influences the amount.

EDIT: Well, that is what I think.

You have base chances that make this not possible. You can only get a rough idea of the increase. Can’t assume all base chances are equal so can’t get an accurate number.

Err... really? I thought only crit had a non-zero base chance and all other damage-increasing modifiers were 0% base...

If that were the case you'd never hit for reds it not wearing any of the dmg modifiers, which is not the case. Pretty sure you have a low base of each

Crit lol

Exactly so how are you going to crit without a base value of it if your equipment has none on it??

I'm talking about non-crit modifiers--armor pierce, power shot, etc. Crit obviously has a base chance, otherwise even this topic wouldn't make sense lol

I misread your initial post, but I agree with Randy about there being base values of the others as well.
