Even if you just added crit and measured the difference you still can be very off in the end result. On top of that when monster abilities were open crit got scaled again even though it wasn’t in the notes it was very visible. Makes it harder, but not impossible to identify Critical Strike hits alone.
Ratios increase your chance of critical strike, so you test gear without any other mods that indicate RED, as there are NO STAT influence on those mods, armor pierce etc. So, in reality you can depict Ratio performance, then you could test with just Critical Strike items to see how much that influences the amount.
