Seems like a reasonable suggestion. Typically "ironman" categories also restrict item use (eg: self found). Just to be clear there would be no such restrictions on this mode?

No this won't be the case. You can buy/vault/transfer any items you like. You just have to play solo.

If we are going ironman, it should be a solo self found type thing otherwise it's not an ironman.

I like the idea, however I don't like the thought of less monster difficulty as that is typically where drops come from... I'll try to brainstorm something and get back with you.

if I recall correctly, drop rate is tied to monster difficulty. So dropping the difficulty would affect drop rates. To counteract it , it would need to be buffed for the singleplayer mode

Guessing you can NOT use the gear you have already collected. You have to restart fresh, BUT, if you have two characters (Ironman 3 Seasonal), you can transfer between them?

Okay, keep the version as is: Light (-5% - +2.5% - +1.75%) / Medium (-7.5% - +5% - +2.5%)/ Hard, (-10% - +10% - +5%) but, you can choose 3 reward effects from a list (Tick box)

List: (add to this as you see fit)
Remove Trap Doors
- Monster Difficulty
+ Prof
+ Heal Mastery
+ Max Life (100 / 200 / 300)
+ Max Mana (100 / 200 / 300)
+ Mana Syphon
+ Quick Draw
+ Life Steal
etc.

Remember just an idea.

Isn't maximum prof point per wave 10 whether you are in a group or solo? If so, that reward has been the same for ages, even with the buff to Abilities gaining more prof % chance.

at your speed is a nice term ... to say you need 4-6x the time as a group loool



every time i did a solo climb i need around 4h30min or more depand how much i welld while a group needs ~1h...

in the same time i can do 4-5 climbs in a group or a single solo climb ( group more gps )
4-5 group climbs give more prof aswell compares to a single solo climb ( group wins again )
about drops group wins obv... jsut because more drops but its only a 1/5 chance you get it ( so a draw IMO )

and pls dont forget that group play is alot safer aswell...

I think the drop rate is more than fine as is. The drop quality is horrible in my opinion. Tired of getting perfect stats on lvl 1-2 items and everything else is trash =(

I agree trap doors need to be removed but o remember in a previous thread back when njaguar was making the update that he states he loves trap doors and will not be removing them.

As for this “iron man mode” I kind of like the idea. My concern is once I mq am I able to change to normal mode or does it stay at Ironman mode forever?

Keep in mind this is not about the drops.

Updates:
Rename to Soloplayer from Ironman
You can use your gear as you like (you do not need to start completely new)
Monster Diff looks like it is not the right thing as it contributes to drops so we need less monster base strength and monster Life
Every char should be able to detect trap doors
The impact on monsters doesn't need to start at lvl 1 but it could be -5 from 1 to 71 and increasing after 71 to 10/15%
Prof gain/cap would be a nice add
+25% shrine effectiveness is reasonable

This thread is a cry out (*note that I'm not saying cry) thread for give me new content.

Content is exactly what we all need and want. I don't think think restrictive content is good. Having an ironman option would split up the existing small community more than ever. We do need new content so most of the idea in my opinion is great. There should be more rewarding paths. More choices of how to play the game but you should be able to integrate between them at will.
