The BASIC game CONCEPTION is one of the best games created, the thing is this, IT IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE with close minded or one way thinking concepts.
Personal opinion here, this game can be as simple as it is, BUT, will be enjoyed and played for 30+ years... it needs outside thinking, it needs balancing, it needs to GROW with the times.
This suggestion is a one way thinking concept, it isn't going to do much at all, it WON'T increase player base, it does NOT give diversity at all, it only gives a 50% chance of playing a different character class, or in retrospect play a character class that may or may NOT be achieved based on LUCK.
You want diversity, fun and balance to the game, then come up with something that is not based on LUCK with unlocking character class.
There are many ways to do this, at this moment, how about this concept which I suggested many years ago.
Option 1. Pre-established classes [game as it is] with allocated stat points for each class... Barb, Fighter, Rogue etc [Feeder], now, when you pass with these pre-established classes, you unlock pre-established classes, e.g. Samurai, Paladin, Monk etc. You will have to adhere to the rules of Master Quest to unlock next class.
Option 2. Personalised class. You choose a Feeder Class, you receive all attributes (abilities, items) to that feeder class EXCEPT stat placement: All feeders start with 150 stat points that are pre-determined, now, with this option, you start with 5 stat points in EACH stat [20 points total], now, you choose where the other 130 BASE stat points are distributed, once you have chosen them, you can place the STARTING 10 stat points randomly, note: this also applies to any additional starting points... IMPORTANT. Once you have chosen the 130 BASE stat points, they can NOT be redistributed when you unlock next character class, so, if you unlock Samurai, you start out with YOUR distributed stat points from the start, the ONLY difference is the ADDITIONAL 5 points for unlocking next class can be distributed by YOU. This repeats as you unlock characters. ALSO note that you have to abide by the REQUIREMENTS (including Abilities) of each UNLOCKED character class... ONLY use items available to them.
Now... this idea has diversity, you can create a build around items, Hybrid builds that utilise those so called junk items people go on about and so on... think more, not less.
END NOTE: I have posted even more suggestions to give this idea and even those posted by others more merit that this one that is being bumped by one way thinking.
When Rex doesn’t agree you KNOW it’s a bad suggestion
