They disabled 16 character keys. If you want to use your keys, you have to register them on battle.net and get the 24 digit ones from your collection, or use their installers.

Sucks for me, I had a mix of old keys from friends who used to play, and can't convert them all over.

today i had same thing, Claimed by bnet...

i reinstall with Another 16 cd-key, works for now.

note: i use legit cd-keys, cannot find my lod case tho.. should be somewer in the house.

I only got 2 cd keys 1 for diablo and another for lod and they are legit as I bought in a store couple of years back

and before you got them at walmart. Someone opened the box snapped a pic and ninja'd it. /bnet $20 for a new. the 16 key ban was an impressive marketing gimmick by blizz lol!
