How does having sex, drugs, and violence in a show have any affect on the writing?

The Wire features all of those and is widely known as one of the best written shows of all time.

You know what else has sex, drugs, and violence? Real life.

half the reason i've pretty much abandoned western media is because it's pretty boring in comparison.
especially when it comes down to the amount and variety of it.

i just just feel like it's just Marvel/DC movies and boring violent drama stuff like Walking Dead and Game of Thrones.
i guess that's Hollywood for you.

can't even remember the last time i watched a series or movie and actually thought it was really good.
i do watch the occasional movie these days but none of them are really that great.
last one i watched was Infinity War last week and well that was just like any other Marvel movie so it was boring.

there's so much well written hentai out there that it's crazy, even the bad shit still can look better than most western porn plot.

That's just the epitome of well written manga. But there are plenty more.

Game of thrones was great and will always be.

The thing that irks me about western media is how fake it feels.

Game of thrones is an exception.
