I can see you're a man of culture

I’ll go ahead and skip paying $30K/year so that I can hear some 60 year old, who makes $120K/year yet has done nothing with his/her life outside the world of academia, tell me shit I can learn on the internet for free and try to convince me that I should be a bleeding heart and cry my eyes out when the government doesn’t hand me my life on a silver platter.

Yet still have higher rates of employment and income than non graduates and the increase in lifetime earning greatly outpaces the cost.

That means that successful people seek degrees, not the other way around

I know that you spend several hundred dollars for a book that comes out brand new every other year with basically zero changes and that you have to take 60+ credits of shit you neither want or need that relates absolutely nothing to your field of study to get a piece of paper that proves nothing more than you’re capable of spending money and passing as an average human being on the most basic level.

If I could go to school, spend a REASONABLE amount of money, learn only the shit that was ACTUALLY useful in my field, and it didn’t take four fucking years of my life to prove that a I can show up on time to 60% of my classes and get a ‘C’ average I’d be all in.

Long enough to finish about four courses, then decided it wasn’t for me.
Worked a few dead end jobs from 18-22 then got sick of going nowhere and doing the same old shit in the same old town so I joined the military.
ATTEMPTED to do the online college thing after I got out a few years ago, didn’t make it through my first class.
I spent three weeks trying to pretend like I gave a shit about how Susey McFuckface and Joe Cocksucker felt about the ridiculous thing we were told to read and comment on for an assignment and said “fuck it, I’m out”.
