That's not enough. Someone can go and pass some theoretical + practical test and suddenly they're allowed to operate a 1000 kg pile of metal that they can use to ram into civilians at 100 mph? I don't think so.

Clearly it should be possible for everybody to have a concealed car with them. If one of the bystanders had had a car handy, they could have crashed into the terrorist Mario Kart style, and prevented the casualties.

65% consider the laws of Islam, i.e. the Sharia, to be standing above our laws. a majority is homophobic, almost half of them are having antisemitic attitudes, and over half of them thinks we want to destroy their culture.

while islam has its problems you should really avoid using hackery stats like this.

ask 1000 Christians this question: if the laws of the bible and the laws of your country conflicted which would you follow?

and you'll get the same results. the only reason no one bothers to ask this to Christians is that our legal code is already based on the 10 commandments.

the conclusion of those types of surveys are always overstated, as they're not specifically asking things such as "will you still perform female genital mutilation if you live in a western country where it's illegal" or "would you stone your daughter if she shamed your family while living in a western country". they're far too general to be applied to the most problematic of Islam's practices, nor do they differentiate between Islamic groups where the most problematic practices are common vs uncommon. you dont see FGM in Saudi Arabia like in Africa, you don't see child brides in one area as much as another, etc.

these stats are lazy, and do not serve to actually combat the problem of Islam in the west in any specific way, just a tad ironic given that you are saying Khan isn't being specific enough to combat the problem.

well, the study I cited via the WaPo article did ask one question to both muslims and christians: "do you think the other side wants to destroy your culture?"
54% of muslims said that they indeed think the west is out to destroy the muslim culture, while only 23% of christians said the same thing about islam.

and no, I dont think that 65% of westerners would say that their religious belief is above the laws of their country.

duh? the law of their land is based on their religion. they're compatible. people wouldnt understand the question, but if they did they would answer that they want biblical law. at least the christains would. who wants a law not in line with gods laws that believes in god? that's nonsensical.

your survey basically "proves" that western law isn't compatible with sharia law, something any monkey could see without the survey. It does nothing to find what percent of muslim will break specific laws in a western country, it's the plain vanilla of conclusions that had so much face validity that the survey is moot. its no better than the "do you want sharia law in your new country" that says nothing about violently making it so nor even if they have plans to seek sharia laws through political means. it's nonspecific, and they're used to prove things they dont prove.

these people are now living in our countries, where the laws are shaped by our values. they obviously clash with sharia law, so that muslim immigrants in the west have to choose which one takes priority for them. 65% of the respondents said that to them, the ideas and values of sharia law take priority.

you can spin this in the direction of "theoretical prioritizations dont say anything about how they will act when sharia and secular laws collide in practice", but that's a really lame attempt at downplaying worrisome numbers.
