California high court orders proposal to split up state removed from November ballot

I wonder how the Electoral votes will be split if this occurs. Will the 3 Californias have fewer Electoral votes than a single California does?

More electoral votes. Each new state would get senators and still have the same number of house reps, so exactly 4 more Electoral votes.

If you split California and ANY of them vote Republican then it tilts the electoral college heavily in Republicans favor, and northern California definitely favors Republicans.

If you deny this then you're just at odds with reality.

Would probably end up with 4 liberal senators, 2 conservative senators, and the same type of house distribution we already witness. But yeah, presidential race would get bonkers.

Honestly, being so rich you can't afford to import janitors is a great problem. Most states would kill for that to be a concern.

That's pretty bad. Returns need to come with risk.

They're not rich though. They have high nominal incomes, but the costs of living eat it right up.

This is called capitalism. It's what happens when greedy rent-seeking property owners and employers refuse to pay fair wages and drive up rents for their own benefits at the expense of society. It makes the need for socialist revolution all the more obvious.

LMAO! No, this has everything to do with government planners and you know it.

Not bonkers, just less liberal bias.

Can you tell me which government planners told all of the property owners to hike rents and keep wages low so I can have a stern conversation with them?

Thats true but it doesn't apply to California

How about Cali's negative cash flow and rapidly growing unpaid liabilities?

What is this about negative cash flows during years of billions of dollar surpluses (https://www.sacbee.com/news/politics-government/capitol-alert/article210903954.html)?

Last I heard, the middle class folks were leaving Cali, like sailors leaving a drowning ship.

Good. Taking pressure off rents and traffic is a good thing.

It's up and down. Fucker voted for the last Farm Bill, even though it still includes the sugar protectionism that he (and I) railed about for years, and even though he voted against the OMNIBUS like I would have wanted him to, he voted in favor of a procedural vote that could have blocked it, and it was much closer on the procedural vote than it was on the main vote. He's a blending of good philosophy of governance and bad policymaking by the establishment. He's better than his Republican predecessor, and much worse than someone like Congressman Massie.

Government planners don't control wages silly, and you know that too. But they do control zoning access, set laws for rent and vacancy control, and make it extremely difficult to approve new developments. And you knew that too.

So it's the state forcing the developers to only develop luxury condos all over the fuckin' place. What policy exactly forces them to do this so I can fight it at the Capitol?
