Are you serious? Melee champions have to play around way more than ranged champions do.

And every champion in the game requires mechanics because the game itself requires mechanics.

Ok let me put it this way:

the gap between a Diamond Garen player and the best Garen player in the world is much smaller than the gap between a Diamond Vayne player and the best Vayne in the world.

You picked the easiest melee champ though.

I'd argue the gap between a diamond yas and the best yas in the world is about as big as vayne's.

Yasuo is much harder than Vayne lol
Ezreal, Caitlyn, Draven, Lucian are all harder ADCs than Vayne to master

You are definitely right about Yasuo. There could be a case made for some other melee carries like Camille and Fiora as well. My comparison really had more of Juggernauts in mind like Darius and Mordekaiser which are essentially variations of the same champion: Garen.



I can't really give much of an opinion whether Yasuo is "harder" than Vayne because I've played, almost exclusively, Vayne during several seasons. I have a lot of comfort on that champion. I hardly ever play Yasuo and when I do it's hilariously bad. If we are talking about pure mechanics I think it's really close. The level of outplay you can do with both champions is very comparable: Yasuo EQ flash vs Vayne E-flash, both have Q auto reset, short cd dashes etc etc. Yasuo is much more durable than Vayne and has to worry much less about being one-shot or flanked but Yasuo is much less powerful in the open away from minion waves. The more I think about it the more I thinks it is very even. I think Riven is harder than both champions and a better example of high skillcap melee carries if not THE highest.

One of my favorite games ever. Still remember watching this one. Most bruisers just don't come close to the level of apm Bang is putting out. How are we even having this discussion?

Half the auto range doesn't mean you have double the skill cap. It means you have double the skill floor.

More range = more choices = more opportunities to not make the best play.
Less range = less choices = the best choice is more obvious

Therefore champions with more options are harder to master.
Every time you fail to hit someone going for a CS with Caitlyn, you're misplaying.

Champions with more options have higher skill caps.
That's why Caitlyn is one of the hardest ADCs.

pretty on point but to be honest in my opinion caitlyn is only good in bully
lanes and u have to have great positioning.. you also need to win lane phase..
if cait gets fed and darius gets fed.. she's still never going to kill him till 6 items..
if vayne gets fed if she closes her eyes and he doesn't afk run at her 6 hits hes 2 hp.
cait might shave 40% of his health bar. if you had equal understanding at your current
rank of cait and vayne, vayne is a lot easier to play and win.

You're talking about champion effectiveness though, not skill cap.
A champion could have 46 abilities that they need to use together nonstop, but if all the abilities do 1 damage, they're still the highest skillcap champion in the game even if they don't do anything.

Also it's more likely that Caitlyn getting fed just ends the game through sieging and never has to fight Darius anyway.
