bell should get roughly the exact same contract as gurley. 4 year deal into his age 30 year isnt as bad as you make it seem.
steelers kept playing hardball acting like bell isnt any different than your average meh RB, when in reality hes arguably the best RB in the league and a 3 down workhorse dual threat.
Yea everyone is going to have their own view. I say you pay mostly based on what you expect going forward, not based just on past achievements. Once upon a time, bell was Hands down the best back in the league. But, that was like 2 and 4 years ago with a shortened season in between. Now I'd say he's probably still somewhere in the top 5, but has been fading. I expect Gurley to be the more efficient of the two over the next 4 years.
I don't disagree with you about the steelers either. They should have made the 33 million from the 1st 2 years guaranteed in the offer since they weren't going to go through the trouble of signing him to cut him after one year. Had they offered 5 years 70 million with 33 million guaranteed, I think both sides would've been happy.
