Meh you can easily start a good home gym for a grand.
Average gym membership is around 4-500 bucks a year.
Do you have a significant other ? If they pay for a gym membership ?
Thats about 1 year of gym membership if more than 2 people in your household go to the gym.

2 years you easily profit.
Pimp your gym out with the extra cash money you save

yeah it's just me and my girlfriend. I have everything I want priced out at $880

Doesn't include flooring though and I can't seem to figure that one out. Hoping that doesn't get too expensive

They sell interlocking foam rubber mats that are like 3x3 ft squares at Menards, Lowe's and Home Depot around here, they aren't too expensive either.
This website has shit reasonable too, and will even send you free sample to check out. Wouldn't be expensive at all to do a nice floor the size you are talking.

Tractor supply, buy horse stall mats.. They’re way cheaper and just as good/better than even the best flooring

I'll look into it.

So can someone tell me this... I have a carpet on a concrete slab... roughly 2 years old slab. Do I even NEED new flooring? What's my best choice? Should I rip the carpet up and put in the rubber flooring, get a little area of rubber just for the rack overtop the carpet, not get anything at all and just put everything on the carpet, etc.

If you maintained the carpet you should be fine. If you live near the shore you might need to commercial vacuum it because of sand build up. If it looks fine then steam clean it.

Options off the top of my head are:
Lamanent
Tear up carpet and stain concrete
Keep carpet and maintain it

Live in a pretty much brand new house. The carpet is well kept and nothing wrong with it at all
