With a bit of help of the British secret service, Russian spies/hackers were caught red handed in the Netherlands. They then got linked to 300 other Russian agents, whom's names are published giving them a hard time staying under the radar around the world.

/e: It's not normal procedure to put this type of information in the open, doing so means that it's going to be used politically for leverage in the near future.

I'm pretty sure they didn't care enough, too much is denied too easily, a good reason to exert political influence a bit different than usual.

You might like this as it goes into the question of the hackers being stupid or not. They've used non-encrypted phones, laptops with a history on it, one even tried to crush his phone with his feet, which is a bit futile, breaking most of the screen and not the important chips.
Yet the group is allegedly responsible for what are called "impressive hacks". Making me think that the chances of being caught and its implications have been too low.

Tbf, US intelligence seem to be working with ours on the matter. Sort of an international collaboration in order to make life more difficult for Russian spies.

oh i'm not talking about intelligence - they have always acknowledged the threat and taken it seriously...
