good you didnt read and dont worry i wont spoil anything but
while i agree its reminiscent of BB your last point isn't why. BB is about a guy whos just a teacher and gets diagnosed with cancer. so hes broke and now has cancer so hes like fuck it im gonna sell meth. money laundering comes in because its dirty money
ozark is a guy who is just your average accountant who gets a client that works for a drug cartel and needs his money laundered.
the meth in BB is like the money laundering in ozark.
ya thats what i was meaning to say with the previous post
ozark has him starting with laundering, then he ends up getting wrangled into other aspects of the business (more direct contact with drugs, violence, evading law enforcement) whereas BB started with the drugs then get into the other stuff. same essential pieces, just moved around.

not a bad show confused about the way it ended though lol...not sure if war is coming
that seems to be the trendy way for netflix shows to do it these days ... they end season 1 of a show on a note that is somewhat conclusive, but leaves open a few threads in case a 2nd season is ordered
Overall my impressions of the show:
-damn charlotte was hot. She is like a younger, skinner version of August Ames. very similar face
-seems like Bateman plays the same character he's always played, the same old role just gets plugged into a different type of universe this time. I wonder if that character is all he will ever be.
-the main mexican guy + old farmer (snell) really bothered me. I could barely make out their dialogue, half the time i'd skip back and turn on subtitles to see what they said. really annoying to watch like that
