The beauty of the show is that they can jerk us around by changing Mortys whenever they want, so they don't have to stick to anything they do.

The intro showing Rick literally picking out Mortys from a store shelf sets us up pretty well.

Hahahah, it really does.

Only thing, this Rick and this Morty seem to differ from every other Rick and Morty team. Morty is always a disposable tool. That's just not the case with our duo. Rick has fucking gone through insane amounts of trouble for our Morty. He sacrificed himself for his Morty. That doesn't seem right at all from what we know about the Rick/Morty relationship. Something is different/special about C-136. Obviously it's just a TV show and not everything needs to make sense or w/e, especially with a show like this, but it does seem like they've set it up for our Rick to have some sort of traumatic past with a Morty and possibly an entire family.

It seems to me that the start of this show is a second chance sort of deal. It could be something annoying like Rick is just running a simulation (or a dream or something else stupid) of what would happen if he hadn't gotten his family killed (I would hate ANYTHING like this). What seems logical to me and if they're going this route, I'm hoping this is more accurate. Rick was the type of Rick we've seen in every other universe, a piece of shit who treats Morty like nothing other than a tool and avoids his other family members as much as humanly possible. Something horribly fucked up happens, and as a result, the family is either wiped out or alive but in a state where death would have better. Of course this happening was a direct result of something Rick did and Rick could have probably even saved them if he had given a shit or maybe, Morty tells him to do something and Rick dismisses him as a dumb piece of shit and the family dies. Of course Morty lives, and this is when he completely loses it. Using the knowledge that he's got from Rick, which we all know is substantial now, he's able to get his own portal gun and he starts fucking shit up and plotting his revenge on Rick. Rick seeing how much he fucked up and how bad he ruined a good kid, he decides to change and wants to actually spend time with his family. From the pictures we've seen, our Rick was around with Morty when he was younger. It seems to me that the family has no knowledge of Rick other than what they've heard from Beth. I think that after shit got fucked, Rick found a universe that was identical to his, but where Rick had died before having any negative impact on the family (as all ricks do). He shows up out of nowhere as is stated sooo many fucking times, and it's all as a result of what went down with the other Morty. Anyways, back to the point. This Morty, his second chance Morty as I view him, or his special Morty, isn't just some expendable Morty. I don't see him dying and I don't see Rick ever letting anything happen to our Morty.

I fucking love this show.

Solid episode. I feel the Summer / Beth bit was the best part, with Morty taunting the ex at the campfire. Season hasn't been a let down at all so far. Every episode has been pretty damn good.

Favorite would be #1 or #4. #2 would be my least favorite.

Tbh I didn't really like the latest episode. Most of it was pretty boring to me.

It was on par with Pickle Rick for me. I enjoyed it mainly because it was a dynamic we haven't seen and I always like seeing characters together who don't normally interact. It was probably the weakest episode, but because of that, I still enjoyed it and I'd probably say 7.5 or 8/10 like with #3. There are bound to be some weak episodes, but so far, I've been incredibly impressed with the quality of episodes on average in this show. Through all 3 seasons, even the bad episodes have been pretty enjoyable and every episode has had at least one laugh out loud moment, which is rare for comedies. For normal comedies, it's like 1 out of every 10 episodes might get a chuckle from me.
