those calls were too close to be upset over,
if they were called goalie interference and no goal, that call would of also stood.

its playoff hockey, different animal,

or else backstrom would of been given games for his play, same with draisaitl for the spear (i think it was him right?)

a few other mentionable calls i think didn't result in suspensions throughout these playoffs because of it being "playoffs"

thats what some analyst's have been saying anyways, and i agree with that opinion.

either way as one of my buddies posted.

29th to 5th in a year.
nothing to be upset over, great year for the oilers, and they lost fair and square end of story.

lets just hope they can continue this level of hockey next year.

Agreed. Even if we did get shafted we had ample opportunity to win it, we allowed the 2 previous goals that made the tying goal matter.
We came out flat in game 7 like we where owed the game and the result of game 6 still mattered.

that said the 2 thing on ice that bothered me the most where not the disallowed goals.
The blown icing in overtime.
the extreme benefit of the doubt and second or 3rd chances to not be kicked out of face off circle by some veteran ducks.

Off ice I do feel over looked as a fan by the start times of the game. Giving the oppositions and even eastern fans the ideal game time start on everyone of our home games was pretty annoying imo.

you mean the start times?
i thought they were good.

either 5-5:30 or 8-8:30

those seemed legit for me (im in edmonton though)

better than a 10pm start like most of the east had to deal with

Yes I'm in Edmonton. I prefer our regular start time of 7 / 7:30.
I can understand the first round times of 8 to accommodate double header that's a Saturday start time and the first round like 2 weeks of straight Saturdays . I don't like 5 o'clock starts, still at work , don't like having the game and supper at same time. And I don't see the need to change our regular game time to acomodate other viewers. All the eastern games started at their regular times and a 7:00 local start on our games would have made it better for eastern viewers.

84/85 oilers voted greatest NHL team.

The debate can end now.

Chiarelli on eberle deal :
Quote
"It was a function of a number of different things. One, the chance to acquire a player like Ryan Strome. Two, no secret we have got to clear up some space to sign both Connorn (McDavid) and Leon (Draisaitl). And three, there are times that these deals come about and you have to act on them and we just felt it would improve our team. You’ve got a player like Ryan who hasn’t put the numbers up like Jordan, but he’s got things to his game that we feel could help us in our division. He’s got good size. He’s got a terrific wrist shot. I scouted him for a long time for the U-24 team. A very, very cerebral players. He can play centre or the wing. He’s very good on the half wall. These are all some of the things that Jordan has, but when we can save some cap space going forward we’re going to have to do it. That’s the reality of building team these days. It was a good fit from a hockey perspective. It was a good fit from a team building and cap perspective.”

Win win.
