I haven't even seen the play yet so I'm not commenting on it specifically, but using the result (aka injury) as a determining factor for suspensions is beyond retarded.

it was pretty bad. kassian missed his check by like 3 feet then swung his stick around

Again, not talking about this play.

Just in general, IMO using the result to decide whether or not a player should be suspended is stupid.

Perfect example is the Gryba hit in the playoffs this past season. Perfectly clean hit but because Eller almost died they had to do something about it

It should be done. Justin Abedlkader's dirty hit ended Lydman's career and that series. He got 2 fucking games.

im not saying the fact that he has a borken jaw is the sole reason as to why im ok with the suspension... i merely meant it had to do with why im ok with the suspension. i do think injury on the play should be taken into consideration when suspending a player, yes. among many other factors. supposedly the league does too

If it's an illegal hit , they should be suspended according to extent of the damage done to other player AND the severity of the illegal hit.

It's a dangerous sport and the players know the risks coming in. They know they can be seriously injured or even killed on a perfectly legal play.

If you're scared go play golf full time.

no, it should be the severity of the illegal hit. if someone is made of glass, it shouldn't be on the other guys half. you break the rules, you get suspended depending on how much you broke the rule, not the result of breaking the rule. thats just ignorant
