How do you figure Pettersson is not superstar worthy? the dude came into the league without any sheltering from Henrik Sedin, and was slotted in as a 1C from winger and delivered.

Other young players had the luxury to be sheltered and develop at their own pace like Point, Barzal, etc. It's not coincidence that Barzal went from 80+ pt player behind Tavares to a 60 pt player after becoming their 1c and focused upon etc.

He also brings insane amount of impact to the Canucks himself alone, while being defensively responsible. He hasn't even hit the breakout season yet and he isn't on a contending team either. He was on pace for like 80pts despite struggling very hard to begin the covid season with rest of the team looking like an AHL team, heck even considering they played like a "team" is overselling it.

Here's some comparison with other players.

He's also top 5 in GAR from https://evolving-hockey.com/ and much ahead of everyone else on his team.

Your definition and opinion of a superstar may be a bit too hardcore.

You’re comparing Pettersson to the rest of the Canucks as your justification for him being a superstar? Lol.

Also, what he’s done compared to his predecessor is literally a terrible argument for what makes a superstar.

I think your definition and opinion of what a super star is may just be plain incorrect lol.

What is your definition of a super star? Let’s start there.

You do realize there’s a difference between a star and a super star right? There’s a bunch of stars in the NHL and only a select group of elite players who are considered super stars.

Pettersson is not a super star. He’s a star.

Yup, I know there's a difference. So basically you're saying pettersson is not elite, because your definition of a superstar has to be elite lmao.

Inb4 you consider marner a superstar. He's a star.

Matthews is a superstar.

I compared rest of the team because he's on the Canucks and shows how much impact he has by himself despite being young and yet to have his breakout season.

it depends how you look at it cause you can have mcdavid alone as a superstar and anybody not that good is a star
or you can have mcdavid as inhuman and guys like crosby ovechkin mackinnon ect ect as super stars

imo petey is a star with superstar potential and i go with the inhuman scale
or maybe we need a better term for somebody like mcdavid like super duper star

I’d say this is pretty close.

You sure you know the difference? Seems like you have no clue. You going to put Pettersson on McDavid or Matthews level? Lol

“iNb4yOuSaYsOmEtHiNgIdOnTLiKe” :baby:

Get real lol. Pettersson isn’t a superstar and no matter how hard you huff and puff about it on jsp, that’s not going to change.
