Not that I'm aware. He separated his shoulder in 12/13 and arthritis has set in. You can't rehab that afaik. Surgery was always the option. And this may be career ending for him.

If that is the reason for the discontent I will certainly take back what I said.

If he wants to have surgery and the management/ownership group is refusing he has every right to protect his health.

buffalo released a statement saying that they didn't want him to do the surgery because they never had an NHL player ever get it done before, so their team doctors suggested he just rehab instead of doing surgery as a conservative approach.
Stupid take though, cuz MMA fighters, boxers and athletes have gotten the surgery before and it wasn't an issue, it;s just that a NHL player never got it done before so they're afraid in case the surgery doesn't go well, adn they lose their best player via injury.
