If Barrie isn't staying in Colorado then the 10th pick and a tweener is probably as good as it will get.

Problem is, it's not the 10th overall.

chiarelli is coming back in vancouver i expect that they trade bo horvat and their 1st round pick for tyson barrie

But it's better than losing him for nothing through expansion, canucks or any other team can sign him through FA next season. Plus next year's 1st is really good especially if canucks fail again and turns out to be top 5 pick. With canucks luck, watch them win the lottery and avs get it LOL
I think virtanen will be great with the avs, they got the speed to play with him. Kinda wish virtanen would stay tho.. I feel like he will be more impactful when he is in his mid 20s

Getting a 50-60pt D would tremendously change the Canucks back end, but if barrie leaves after 1 season, it's gonna hurt lolnucks so bad ahaha

Barrie is basically from Vancouver isn't he? Hes willing to resign with us. I wouldn't see why he wouldn't resign with you guys also. He has shown nothing to think otherwise. You say next year's first is really good. But with Benning trying so hard. He's clearly looking to compete sooner then that. You guys weren't expected to be as good as you were this year. I expect another step and lower pick next year.

Ya barrie is from Victoria I believe. I think barrie has no problem re signing with you guys if avs wanted to, but he's gonna be the one exposed on the draft and I don't think Seattle would pass on a 50-60pt dmen. Another option is to buy out Erik Johnson, but idk if u guys want the 2mil cap penalty for 4 years when u got makar and Girard to essentially replace barrie.

I think canucks will really depend on markstrom if he plays a full season like he did post december and hughes becoming a 40pt+ dmen in his first full season to take the next step. However Vancouver is cursed so if they hold their 2020 pick, it'll be some lowest chance possible drop pick, and if traded away its instant high chance of being a lottery pick
