Dubas says they may let Marner walk if he signs an offer sheet. I’m assuming this means if it’s over 10.5mil and a compensation of 4x 1st rounders. Would be crazy not to take the 4x 1sts.

Maybe the Leafs don’t even consider him worth 10.5 though. 2x 1sts, a 2nd and 3rd might be more than enough compensation for Leafs to let Marnie go

Ikr, but Benning and other teams can argue the cost is too much since he only has 1 year left in his deal and can walk to FA. Probably pay the full price only if avs can resign him to 8yr deal or something. Wouldn't make sense for canucks to pay so much for a 1yr rental player though lol. Must've been a decent offer if Sakic even considered it and is sleeping on it.

Sakic knows it sucks to lose barrie, but he's gonna lose him for nothing when Seattle draft comes since he gotta protect Erikson.

I think I read somewhere marner rejected leafs 11m offer or something? So at this point leafs are hoping other teams offer him 10.5 or less so they can match him lol
