That’s a lot of money for someone who will be 42ish by the time contract will be over.

Surprised they did sign him long term; Dodgers are known to hate giving out long contracts.

Lot of faith in him, for sure, must have a ton of hope he can remain durable for at least most of that contract.

Maybe near the end after hyperinflation it won't be so bad.

I've yet to see a long contract for a hitter work out and there's a huge growing list of players not performing through their entire contract. There's only been a couple long contracts that have actually worked out for the team and they're all pitchers that come to mind (Scherzer/Lester for the most part).

I'll side with the facts until a hitter proves otherwise and disagree with whoever thinks he can remain durable for the contract.

Fair, and I am very surprised by the length of the deal but I'm excited because if this works out for, let's say, even 6 years of him being one of the best players in the league I'm up for it.

Please just don't let Muncy slip away amid throwing around all this money, 2nd best hitter the last 2 years and the man gets so little attention for it.

He'll be 40.

He's 27 right now and had a 1 year deal with 12 year extension

The contract A-Rod signed with the Rangers worked out. I think it was 10yr/250m but he was probably younger than Betts than the time.

Been a lot of fails like Pujols, Cabrera, Fielder, Mauer, Tulowitski
