definitely addressed 1 of the most glaring weakness from last season, players that are able to PK lol.

Gotta hope they mesh well and find chemistry quickly.

Hughes - Soucy/Cole
Soucy/Cole - Hronek
Hirose - Myers
Wolainin, Johansson, Juulsen, McWard for depth. Sadly our defense was so shit, this looks hell a lot better than last season.

I would imagine Myers is gone to a team that wants to get closer to the cap.

1 million in actual dollars to be paid but a 6 million cap hit. Just have to wait for his bonus to be paid.

He should not be that tough too move. If the penalty is too much we could just keep him I guess.

Rumor is that Alvin had a deal in place with SJS for weeks, but he hasn't pulled the trigger. It also had nothing to do with the signing bonus.

Carolina is linked the EK, and EK requested to be traded.

I wonder if we can somehow do a 3way trade, sending Myers to SJS, Pesce to the Canucks, EK to Carolina as the core, and obviously picks would be involved. I hope the Canucks keep their 1sts and 2nds, but idk if SJS would even entertain the idea if it's just 3rd+ from the canucks lmao. However, the Canucks backend would look sooo solid for once.
Hughes - Pesce
Cole - Hronek
Hirose/Wolainin - Soucy

Seravalli says that the deal with the SJS was Myers for Leblanc straight up 1 for 1.

I guess it didn't make sense for Alvin to pull the trigger since that's another winger to the roster to cause even more of a jam. While thinning out the RHD even more, just to save about 1.3m which will most likely be used to get a RHD to replace Myers anyway.

Also apparently Elias Pettersson looked very noticeable at camp. I feel like he and wallinder will be a future pairing for the Canucks.

Myers is on his last year, might as well ride him out.

exactly why he probably didn't pull the trigger, also Alvin isn't done. He's trying to move some contract out so he can try and sign Suter/Camtois/Heinen for more depth.
If Petey or Miller gets hurt, there goes their chances of even being a wildcard team , in their annual "all in" season

Well at this point what can be done, Petey and Hughes won't stay for a rebuild. Either blow it up Chicago style which Blueberries would never sign off on or hope to add Kuzmenko value every season somehow.

It makes sense to hold onto him until the deadline especially if there's no other RD out there to replace him.

Only problem is, if we're hovering around the bubble come the deadline, do they have the balls to sell anyway or are they going to push for the 1st round playoff exit.

Yep, gotta lock up Petey to a 8yr deal. Hopefully he takes less than 10m avv and it's a win. However with cap projected to start going up, he can probably command closer to 11. Sucks the Canucks couldn't lock him up like barzals contract.

Rumour is he is waiting for Matthews to sign first.

I would give him 10 mil on a long term deal if that's what he wants. Cap should go up over the years. Petey is worth $10 million.
