Thanks a lot for the guide, I'm somewhat new and I might try this. How long does it take you to complete a climb?

It depends - if I'm just casually slashing for 30 minutes or an hour or so a day then it could take me a week or more if I've got lots of shit going on. But if I'm serious about it and don't have much else to do I can easily climb in 2 days or less if I really don't have anything else to do. I could probably do it in a lot less but I've never actually timed myself ;)

For me, from about levels 20 and on, I probably average 10-15 minutes a level. So, say 4-5 levels per hour.

The truth is this though:

I WILL get disturbed lol. I eventually fill up my Well mage full of gear to toss in, and doing all of those takes an hour also. I am usually browsing the forums at the same time.

So, realistically, I get about 2-3 levels per hour if you consider everything.

one vote here to see you put out a melee welling guide!

also whats a good price range to pay for a full weller?

just so that new players can get an idea of what's involved before they attempt to make one

also can you please touch base on the monster level when you throw items that are not level 55 into the well... say i cant afford to pay for items @ level 55 to well so I gather low level white items and try and well at a lower level when i can get better ee items. what monster level will say a teir 5 weapon create if i am level 15?

I've read a few guides and from what all of them say.... if you are level 15 the monster will be level 15, unless the item is higher level than you are then the monster will equal the item level. so if you are level 15 and you throw in an item that is lvl 30 you will get a lvl 30 monster, but if you throw in a lvl 5 item at lvl 15, you will still get a lvl 15 monster.

question though when you say levle 5 item you dont mean the req level right.... do you mean level 15 item as in a level 5 req item? I have no clue how this works

When you throw an item in the well the monster will either spawn at the same level as the item or +1 from your level (whichever is highest). So if you can't afford level 55 welling gear then I'd suggest welling at 30 or 35 and just do all items below your current level (so if you're 35 then well tier X and under) in hopes for a good drop.

Also - I would give the price for a decent weller but considering that the market has changed a lot recently I'm glad I didn't in the first post because I'd be way off.
I spent around 1.5k on my first weller and had 80%+ success rate but that was back when the prices were a lot more inflated. I'd say that now you could make a decent weller (75% or higher) for 800 - 1k fg. Keep in mind that only counts the MQ gear - you'd have to level up to 55 in catacombs or something.
But my current welling gear I probably spent around 4k total on and I haven't failed a well at level 64 yet. Above level 68 I had 95%+ success rate (I think I died on one or two my last climb because I just did 20 vitality). But yeah for a decent weller I'd say it would take either 1k or a bit under.
