The Way Back (2020)

Watched it because i realy like Ben Affleck.

But hours after watched it, im still wondering why he played in this movie ... he is very good as always, but thats abolutly the only positiv point in this movie (basic story, no emotion from other characters/actors and you know the end of the movie after some mins ...). The screenplay is a basic serie B drama ... Im so disapointed !

10/20 only for Ben Affleck, w/o him, would have been 7/20 :-(

i finally decided to watch it. Although I love science fiction, this isn’t the best movie that touches upon the subject matter. But at least it discusses the potential disaster of playing god. However, the movie isn’t really all fiction. It is very well possible to engineer a being of many species. It reminds me of the homunculus thread I started some time ago. Regardless, the movie is more like an event. It’s not very dramatic. And I didn’t like how they made the scientists incompetent. And I know what is going through your mind when I bring this movie up: The Adrien Brody and Dren sex scene. Yeah... about that... I laughed when I saw it the first time and it is still funny. But when I really think about it, the implications are nothing short of awesome. Also, I think most males would give in and bang her. Very good acting in that scene.
Imagine being able to bio engineer the perfect mate. And then experiencing it. Creator and creation.
