Isn't power shot the same as mind numb when using charms? It says the attack does the full amount, or does it mean it does the highest damage in the min-max range?

E: nevermind I think I see the difference, armor pierce ignores all defense, whereas mind numb just reduced total defense by removing the int component. So power shot must be dealing the max dmg from the min max range otherwise it would be the same as armor pierce

Armor Pierce is not that as otherwise it would Pierce sneakys physical defense. Never seen a physical attack do normal damage to sneaky.

Mind Numb is a weird way of reducing magic defense only. In short it lowers how effective the Intel is boosting the magic defense of an armor


Armor Pierce just sometimes ignores x% of armor. I may be wrong and it may do 100% sneaky is the best thing to test it on with physical hits


In short though I think a lot of mobs have negative Armor, especially physical anyway as quite often you can do more than your max damage without a crit. This is especially noticeable on staffs/polearms.

I do not currently have any other information regarding as to why it happens

Thanks a lot this is really helpful, what about power shot, can you please explain how it works?

Power shot as I mentioned does not affect casting.

Gives a chance for the melee hit to do the maximum of your damage range.

So let's say you're using a sword which does 110-1100 damage. When power shot procs it will deal 1100 - armor.
So this is good on swords and clubs and almost worthless for axes


Whilst I'm explaining this might as well talk about crit
Crit is roughly +1% chance to crit per crit that you use.

Clubs have a general low crit chance of between 1-4% if you only stat strength. So add 10 crit will boost it to closer to 12%.

Thanks, what about the damage of each crit? Seems like you can get really high crit% using axes and having high str and dex...

Damage of each crit is 2x.

Clubs/daggers start at around 1% with base stats
Swords/staffs start at around 4% with base stats
Axes start at about 10% and rise the fastest of melee weapons.
Charms start at about 20% and increases with Intel

Can play around with your str/dex and get a value of what I expect your crit chance to be on the Google sheet on the last post of this topic.

Note charms and axes are not done yet. I do not have enough data yet and in no mood to gather it either


In short though, dex increases the crit chance of clubs/swords significantly but not significant enough to outdamage strength.

Strength increases the crit chance of daggers/staffs significantly but not significant enough to outdamage dex.
