one of the top 10 states for covid deaths and top 10 for states getting hit hardest by inflation but he's great cause he thinks covid is fake!

Well, no shit, the 2nd oldest state in the country which also has high urbanization and a very high population density suffered comparatively many covid deaths, who would have thought?

They have to do the revocation in a way that follows the law and isn't demonstrably punishment for protected political speech.

Funny how when yall complain about private institutions not hosting speech they disagree with and then give a total pass to blatantly illegal and corrupt actions to curtail speech by Republicans

Almost like you don't actually give a shit about speech

Your dishonesty is noted.

There are hundreds of similar special purpose districts in Florida and they are only targeting Disney as political retribution.

Oh PLEASE! Are you seriously suggesting that you would have no problem with DeSantis' pushback against Disney wokism if only he carried it out in a legally squeaky clean fashion; that your gripe is purely with the process and not actually about the substance?

Also note that "we" were complaining about situations where all the power was lying with the institution which censored/cancelled largely powerless individuals. Here, we are talking about the party on the receiving end being a multi-billion megacorporation which commands an army of lawyers and its own media empire. Further note that it wouldn't have come to this if Disney hadn't tried to (ab)use its dominant market position to force its politics onto society. When a business starts acting like a political entity, it shouldn't be surprised - or shed crocodile tears - when it's treated as such and becomes the target of the political enemies it made out of its own volition.

Tbh, I'm kinda surprised by your stance on this issue. Weren't you always complaining about the way corporations have poisoned the public discourse via decades of neoliberal think tanks, foundations and their stooges in the mainstream media shifting the overton window on economic policy, thus creating a political status quo which is significantly to the right of the people's actual preferences? And haven't you repeatedly suggested that this corporate influence needs to be cut back if progressive ideas are to prevail?

i think you misunderstood me. to parse it out.

in primary: lack of personality is a disadvantage, trump wins on crowd appeal as they have the same policies

in general: lack of personality is an advantage, he can calmly beat biden in debate, trump will get carried away and it will be a shit show

in office: lack of personality SHOULD be an advantage to get bipartisan support. but he'll show up day 1 already too demonized to get any support and be stuck ruling through EOs.

That's for clarifying, I can agree with this take.

But just for the record: that's not how you initially presented your position. You wrote "[...]these days, bipartisan support doesn't exist, so he has no advantage over Trump in a primary." ;)

I'd be against DeSantis "going after wokeism" regardless of how he does it. I'm just pointing out the blatant hypocrisy of you people being for free speech and then backing blatantly corrupt and unconstitutional attacks on free speech just because it's your guy against an idea you don't like.

The reason is pretty simple. You don't give a damn about free speech. You want the right to censor those you disagree with, and not be censored by those who disagree with you.

It's really that simple.

As a government in the United States you are not allowed to retalitate against individuals or businesses because they made political speech you disagree with. This is fundamental to the American system and fundamental to the idea of free speech. You do not value free speech at all, so drop the act.

Republican party could produce candidate with intelligence of advanced sentient AI, with perfect scores in looks, charisma, superb public speaker, literally the most perfect non corruptible human being with sole mission to help humanity etc etc. The leftoids will just say he is reincarnation of Hitler, and is a Russian plant to destabilise our government. These people are triggered beyond reason.

Since "the summer of BLM" in 2020, Corporate America as a whole has begun to openly take sides in favor of Democrats and their political cause. Do you seriously expect Republicans to just sit back and watch while Corporate America uses its resources and outreach to tip the scales, without doing anything about it, because hurr durr fReE sPeEcH?

To turn the tables: for a self-proclaimed giga-progressive teetering on the edge of socialism, you seem suspiciously fine with unchecked corporate power as long as this power is used to further causes you support. So much for consistency/honesty.

Oh boy, you're really justifying Republicans blatant corruption because companies prefer to not murder trans people.

You are what leads to literal nazis. If this was the 20s you'd be saying the same talking point about the jews and praising Hitler for aggressive conservative wins as he shreds the government.

But of course you will never really reflect on how your talking points are literally word for word copies of the anti gay marriage points, or the anti civil rights points, or the literal nazi talking points.

Nice attempt to make it about me though, I still want Disney broken up into several pieces along with google, microsoft, and pretty much ever other big company whether they support progressive policies or not. I'm perfectly consistent as always :)

literally all they need to do is produce a candidate that isn't a psycho and is a somewhat normal human being. who amongst the GOP isnt a Maga hog puppet? the list is incredibly small, the party is devoid of any real leaders

Republican core beliefs are far too right winged in America, to ever merit voting red. You show me a candidate that cares about ALL their citizens and wants to make programs that will help the lower middle class and poor be able to breath, a candidate that wishes to help the marginalized, not further push the divide of hate. I'll vote for them.

Racism, hate, and flat out bigotry, senseless violence against minorities, that's the American republican party core beliefs, not counting tax cuts for the wealthy. Rotten.

Apparently the video crashed several times and they lost like 3/4 of the viewers to frustration.

He hit just about every point his voters are concerned about. He has pledged to lead the American comeback. Never mentioned trannies. Just wait for normal people to realize he is just a fantastic politician, despite the extremely small batch of lies people have heard about him.

It was audio only. If that would be video then Twitter would have gone offline for a week 😅
