It means they have donated money to the site and it’s only a visual item.

Anyone can donate to the site so it doesn't mean they more trustworthy than someone else.

Trusted Tag explained: https://forums.d2jsp.org/info.php?p=21

You should always post in their topic or have them post in yours.

If you feel unsafe about a trade, you can ALWAYS request a Mediator:

I wouldn't use the term donate because that's technically incorrect. If you donate to the site, such as the $25 for DF access, you don't get star value. Buying fg gets you stars, or trading fg for star value gets you stars.

Either way if not you, someone donated in your name.
Surely there’s different ways to do it.

But nonetheless a donation was made

No, many users with high amounts donated to the site have been locked and scammer tagged for scamming.

If you feel unsafe it’s always good to use a mediator :)

The $25 you donate for donor forums access does indeed affect your stars value.

People will sometimes create their own basis for trust, such as post count, join date, amount of forum gold, etc, but the safest way to trade is to use a mediator. It’s fast and it’s free

Ahhh. I reread the Donor forum thing and you're right, I did get it mixed up. My bad. It was purchasing forum gold doesnt count as a donation. I guess in my mind I thought it was the same if reversed, donations don't count as purchasing gold.
