Assassin noob question

Why do people prioritize mind blast in bases so much? Doesn’t it just increase the damage by a bit? Wouldn’t something like blade block or venom be better?

Me I am priorizing it so I can save 3 skill point :) same for dragon flight or bladeshield or shadow master.

Every extra mind blast boost adds not only the damage, way more important is that it increases the mind blast spam activity from ur shadow master.

You want in 2.4 still atleast have 10+ hard points in mind blast, so your sm assist you well for creating decent openers by mb ur opponent.

My advice is to have 10-20 mind blast (I use 20 as a hybsin) and also hard point shadow master. You also want your shadow master in other setups (for example a maxblock setup with hoto + stormshield) so dont get mb and sm as a „skill saver“ on claw.

Good skills on claws are: weapon block, lightning sentry, dragon flight, blade shield, mind blast

With 2.4 fhr didn't mind blast loose a bit in interest ?

Also I saw that the use of SM was debatable considering that he can mess with your trap by sending is own.

Couple more questions. Shadow master gets rare ammy at lvl 17 right but what if you have hlord or maras on?

And an IAS question. Off hand ias does nothing for trap laying speed right but it does do something for whirlwind? I want to use double RT or GT for matching look. If I do this I’m losing overall whirlwind damage but gaining more whirlwind attack speed?

Interesting take. I would have answered that you use staffmods to increase the MB stun duration on a sin with trap GCs and poor +shadow.

I also use SW over SM and intentionally swap to MB so I don't worry too much about the skill contributing to SM cast frequency.

Do you guys find more success with 9x traps or 9x shadows when playing hybrid sin?

I’m using 9x trap but I have to dump more points into fade because of it to reach 50% dr

In pvp when the opponent has arachnids mesh(slows target -10%). Do you need 55ias total to stay at max trap laying speed?

if they hit you with a physical attack, yes.
