To get back to your quote which says she cannot be strong, spawning a red armor valk pretty much secures her survival until meeting boss. So you could run with 1 Valkyrie through whole act5 and she will most likely survive until she meets Baal.
Valkyrie is considered a Minion, to which bosses deal way more damage.
