My average solo climb yields over 4000 prof points.
Normal groups about 1/3 of that amount
and how long do each of those take?
Groups tend to give around 1.5k-2k.
I am arguing about the time it takes to gain 10,000 prof points. Or how many prof points can be gained in an hour.

Awesome advice, I totally agree with this statement 100%
I am willing to do the testing myself, as i dont really mind solo'ing or groups.
Lets choose either a barb or paladin, you can choose my solo'ing skill set.
I will not be using salvation or healback and will only town to shrine for the solo climb.
I suppose i should point out the fallacy of this arguement:
Quote
To make this even... there were 5 group members = 5 actions = each getting 9 prof points (ALL successful hit checks right?)... so, since I am a solo player... you can NOT multiply the prof points gained in the explanation above, you can only use the ACTION total... 5
Now, you got the works... it is time to give myself the topping:
5 instances while solo'ing my character has full Revenge charge vs 3 mob wave in the first 2 columns and successfully hit check all of them and 1 hit kill receiving 3 prof points per wave = 15 prof points (5 actions)
Now... here are the results:
Bob (you) in full group (organised) 5 (actions) x 9 monster wave = 9 prof point
Me solo, 5 actions x 3 monster wave = 15 prof point.
So, lets say you have 12 actions versus the max number of mobs. Lets also argue we're both using paladins.
So in solo you would have taken 36 hits, this isn't enough to charge your revenge for 5 separate attempts to use revenge at 16% or higher. So i'm going to suggest 4 revenge with 8 standard hits.
This is 4*3 = 12 hits + 8 standard hits = 20 total.
In a group with just revenge
I would have taken in 12 actions around 60-90 hits from mobs. This is enough charge twice as many low % revenges, to let you stand a chance lets argue and say i only got 6 in with 6 standard actions.
this is 6*6 = 36 hits + 6 standard hits = 42 total.
I've not even included multistrike in this arguement as it's entirely un-necessary.
