Edit: In-case you’re talking about ID verification for purchasing forum gold, yes that’s a needed process and everyone goes through the process at least once when purchasing forum gold, for that you submit it in the system when prompted to.

Your information is only ever used for the purpose of verification, plenty of online shops as well as payment gateways require the process too and it’s perfectly normal.
