Currently the only way is through PayPal or through the donate for me tool as stated.

If you're having trouble linking a new card it's usually because you've the billing addresses don't match or the card is linked to another PayPal. Double check your PayPal address

log out of your paypal account and hit checkout as guest and/or pay with card without logging in.

Try checking out with PayPal as a "Guest" and just use your card that way.
