Thanks for the tips! There is a lot of different changes such as inventory layout that keeps throwing me off and how if you die you lose a little bit of health until you take humanity.

I noticed the game speed seems much faster and like you said you get swarmed with enemies haha. I’ve already died probably 50 times in the beginning mainly from falling off shit cuz I’m not used to how quick your character moves :)

It's a lot of fun once you get the hang of it. Keep an eye out for the ring of binding as it helps nullify that hp loss. Not sure how much spoilers you want but it's in the area with big dudes and lots of water.

Are you playing scholar of the first sin edition?

Mostly playing DS3 for pvp but sure if you step in one day, call me I would be glad to help you kicking some bosses or protect you from invaders ^_^

My best RPG so far, this game has no equivalent that's also one of the major reason why they didn't planned any #4 yet.

But as true fan, we do still hope they will! :)

The invaders are other players?! Sometimes I'm clearing an area for a boss and then invaded and wrecked. Always the worst timing I had to boot game in offline mode but now I can't read the messages even though half the time they were deceitful.

Update of where I'm at:

I just defeated the ruin sentinels. It was pretty challenging. The youtube guide I'm following along with I made a mage/swordsman hybrid type character. In DS 1 I had a 2 handed sword character that hacked and slashes his way through it all. Now I have to sit back time spell casting and/or stab roll away, rinse and repeat. The different play styles have been a big part in me dying because I can no longer run in and tank/hack my way through everything haha.

Exactly. Invaders appears in red, online and/or offline because you will have to fight some NPC along the story as well. Basically they are not too difficult to beat :)
But it happen sometimes, after a loooong way through the area till you reach the boss fight, someones invade you and make you lose your progression, ensure you 'light up' the campfire (which is kind of a checkpoint and teleport you in other areas too).

Orange messages are from all online players (you included if you decide to drop one), they are supposed to 'alert' other players from something dangerous or a secret path.. But some are just non-sense, I'd say don't pay attention to all

Regarding some situations in general, I'd suggest to lure toughest monsters with an arrow for example else, you can also use binoculars to look at your target, don't move your screen while you take them off for your staff/sword, and your spell should be centered where you were looking at just before :)

Haven't really played DS1/DS2 though mate, just too much of DS3 even my wife gifted the books hehe.

I swear half the time it's always after a huge sprint clearing an area before the boss lol!

You should def go back and check out DS 1 it was pretty fun. I feel being a caster/melee hybrid type build I'm definitely playing the game on "easy mode" A lot of the times I can sit back with my binoculars and pick off enemies or weaken them pretty low to finish em off with melee.

Ds1 was more forgiving with that in my opinion. Enemies were more spread out and in less large packs. I tried that same build in l three games and it was definitely easier in ds1, and quite a fun way to play, reminded me of bow/dagger build in skyrim, pick em off from a ways away and finish off the stragglers that get too close.
