Time to get this engine out!!

I will be removing literally anything from the engine bay to either replace or clean. And also to paint the engine bay, it is a MESS now.

Removed air intake / exhaust manifold

Removed radiator, axles and lots of more stuff. Disconnecting alot of wires, hoses.

Unbolted motor mounts. Engine is coming down now. I don't have an engine hoist so I decided to drag it out from underneath. Easy enough, but I need to lift the front of the car alot and I needed to remove the wheels.

And there is the old engine. I will be stripping it completely and keep the bolts/nuts for spares.

Emptying the engine bay! Cleaning, sanding, cleaning again, etc etc etc

Removing all brake lines, brake booster and small brackets

Hosing down

Sanding and preparing for paint

Primer & paint!
I went with a color that matches my wheels. Looks bronze in the sun but it is more anthracite metallic.

And then this happened.

Someone close to where I live decided to part out his civic and wanted to part it out.

I really wanted to build my own bottom end myself but this was too good of a deal.

I bought this bottom end and will strip it except for the bearings, crankshaft, con rods and pistons.
This engine looks rough on the outside because it has been painted poorly. internals have only seen about 10k kilometers.

Im building the engine in the living room. My wife doesn't care.

specs:
Sleeved engine!!
SRP pistons 9.0:1
Eagle connecting rods
ACL race bearings
Moroso sump (discontinued)
ATI super damper crankshaft pulley (not for sale in the netherlands)
ACT xtreme clutch
Fidanza lightweight flywheel 7lbs

Flywheel is too light for my liking, I bought an ACT 12lbs flywheel.

Inspected all parts, did some cleaning and removed some parts

Getting ready to remove all paint.

Don't have the ati damper removal tool

Parts!!
Also removed all paint from the engine and cleaned it, next up will be painting.
I bolted my old sump on. Don't want to scratch the moroso too much.

Time for some paint. Block is aluminum so I used some non-ferro primer (red) and finished it off with hammerite black. I love this paint!

Also started to replace all seals, o-rings, gaskets and install lots of other parts.

Golden eagle sandwich plate (filtered oil feed for turbo)
Oil pressure sensor
AN10 breather fitting installed (will run a custom oil catch can set-up to this in the future)

ARP studs installed.

Did some work on the head. Not many pictures of this unfortunately.

Anyway, summary of the specs are:
Bisimoto 3.6 camshaft
Titanium valves, seats, retainers
AEM tru time camgear

And bought a press. Nice piece of QoL equipment for bushings and bearings.

Replaced the OEM fuel pump inside my fuel tank with an AEM high flow (340lph) pump

Also got an EK4 (civic ek vti) brake booster and brake master cylinder. They're slightly larger than my old one. They looked bad, don't have a picture of it, but I cleaned the BMC and painted the booster with a can of hammerite black.
I cleaned all of the residue out of the reservoir by putting rice in it with soap and gave it a good shake. Worked perfectly!

Picked up an Integra dc2 front strutbar. I removed all paint and polished the bar. It had a clear coat on it, took a little longer than expected

Also got a civic EK4 front brake set-up. They're slightly larger just like the brake master cylinder and brake booster.
I sandblasted all parts and removed the wheel bearings from the knuckles. I really like using the press! :)
Will be painting them asap because they rust like crazy.

Painted the coilover forks, knuckles and shifter linkages.

Linkages needed some sanding first.

Sparkly
