I have a few questions I can't seem to find the answers too.
1- does dex effect crit rate on magic attacks? And if so would a caster type be better with int and dex?
2-is vit useless? If yes is it useless on hardcore as well?
3- is magic find worth having?
4-the master quest if I'm playing hardcore and I'm to week to complete it. Am I going to be able to back out and try again later or is it I either complete it or lose my character.

1. No. Vit early then all Int.
2. No. Vit early (more on HC) you probably want 75+ Vit. it helps your HP, Defenses, and Regen.
3. Yes but not worth sacrificing stats over.
4. MQ is not about skill at all ;)

1: Int, not dexterity for casters.
2: Vit on gear is pretty useless. Hard points add vitality per level and defense. Typically tanks or solo chars will stat some into vitality.
3: Subjective. Some people say yes, some people say no.
4: The MQ is a secret. If you haven't completed it yet, you'll find out when you get there. Note: your gear won't effect the outcome of the actual master quest. It's luck based.

https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=84489168&f=74 my guide to mage, feel free to pm or reply to the topic
i suggest dex GEAR early on because even on a mage, melee from 1-10 is generally easier than casting at those levels. All stat points still go into either vitality or intel.

I wouldn't worry about magic find until you have gear to clear 1-71, i've found various items over the years with 0 magic luck including the best level 35 focus heal in the game.

getting Vit early is no longer a thing, back 12 years ago (yes that long) the amount of life you got from vit was only 1 + every level up (so putting it in at level 1 and getting to level 10 would be a total of 10 health, whilst putting 1 vit in at level 10 was only 1 health back then)
This has been long overhauled so putting in vit at level 10 will give 10 health.
So basically put vitality in when you actually need more health, i generally suggest around 55 by level 5 for a mage seeing you can heal up with a heal charm. Getting more intel earlier means you get to cast for longer without needing to go to town and shrine.

Thank you all I appreciate it. I will read the guide now thanks im sure it'll give me everything I need to know. Also had one other question I forgot to put in the op. I'm going daggers on my rouge. Will dex increase the damage more then str since its a 10/90dex ratio? I currently have 100 dex on my rouge and was going to put a decent amount of strength at least 75 base.

Don't try to maintain that ratio -- it will drive you nuts.

Simply load all into dex for daggers, or all into str for swords

But doesn't strength add 1% ee per level? I read that one a post from the creator of the game himself. Thats where I'm confused about i get that daggers scale 10str/90dex. So 100 dex would make u do more damage as far as the weapon scaling goes but wouldn't 100str give u 100% ee on your damage as well? Like 0 strength 200 dex wouldn't di as much as 100% strength and 100dex. Or because of the weapon scaling on daggers this doesn't apply with strength but rather the ee is added though dex? Like .1% ee per strength and .9% ee for dex?

that's extremely old information.

it's more about breakpoints or which points in strength/dexterity will actually give you damage, i explain it here: https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=84442301&f=74&o=20
if anything there is unclear quote me ^^
