This is going to be a long math post addressing several others, because this has been fought, at length, a lot, and I can promise you that it will get denied.

70KB is more than enough.
If we raise it to 150KB, than next years someone will ask for 300KB and there it goes, in 2 years everyone will have 10MB signature.
Not everyone use a computer to browse the forum and for that only reason i'm gonna vote no.
I don't wanna go trough my 4GB mobile data plan by refreshing a pages 10 times because of people using big signature.
We've been using 70KB as a legal size for over 17 years now i don't see any reason to change that.
This one has a few things to pick apart and is entirely defeated by icecool, who also voted no.
First, "next years someone will ask for 300KB and there it goes, in 2 years everyone will have 10MB signature." is entirely wrong.
This site was founded in 2003, and the signature rules predate my joining in 2007. Since 2007 they have been 70KB. You're telling me that in the event they increase signature size to 150KB for
paid members for the first time in at least 13 years, that in 2 more years it will compound to 66* that amount? Get over yourself.
Second, let's assume that everyone has a 4GB mobile plan and browses exclusively this forum.
Assuming every user uses a signature (false) and every user used down to the KB the absolute maximum allotted (also false, see icecool) you'd see 7~ signatures before you even reached 1mb.
On a 4gb plan, if you browsed exclusively this site you're telling me you blow through nearly 7,000 posts to use even a quarter of your plan? That's 28,000 posts a month, dude. If you're running up your data by using JSP you have a lot more problems than a data cap or signature size.
Look at icecool, he's using a 9kb signature with a limit of 70. That's what, 12%? Just because the limit is going to increase (again, for paid users only) he's suddenly going to get a signature 16* the size?
The fact of the matter is, if it's a paid feature, there's really not much arguing it. On the data cap side, there's also no arguing it.
Take this entire page for example. The average of all of the posts so far is 42kb.
IF you even doubled that, it's 84kb. Please stop using the mobile data argument. And that isn't even counting the fact that to most people, this is not something worth paying for.
Someone using 12% of the space allotted today and is happy with their signature will very obviously not pay more money to have the cap increased.
All that said, literally none of you design signatures. I haven't in MANY years and it was a strain getting size requirements even when I was active around 08-11ish. The size of resources has only grown and gotten much more high quality since then.

Sorry i'm voting no.
Signatures can get so busy (obnoxiously so) - so having that limit, also limits that :P
I also use my phone to scroll through JSP when out and about - I dont want to have my data eaten up by large signatures. If that changed sure I could turn off viewing signatures, but I like seeing them :P
Your signature is great, and only 33.15 KB :D
See above.

This is something that should of been done years ago.
On one side they cry oh our poor bandwidth and loading times cause they be on dial up/mobile... well fucking disable sigs then.
The site as a whole should not suffer cause of a few.
I cry because you never text me back when I'm up late because I can't sleep. Solution to that?
@OP
I think it should be 150 for everyone, it makes it more attractive to be implemented as a paid feature because it will DRASTICALLY be ignored except to the few who see value in it.
That said, as I touched on before, it's going to get declined. It always has and always will.
