well the avs either getting a guy similar to patrick kane or a guy similar to barkov
in hughes and kakko
which will help make their top 6 stacked

and ottawa will probably get a decent prospect, a late 1st round pick and maybe a 2nd round pick or a young ''Average'' player

everyone said sakic was asking for way too much for duchesne and only pierre dorion paid for it and he must regrets it

Actually the avs have a ~35% chance to draft top 2 with Ottawa’s pick. when you add in Colorado’s own lottery pick they are around 45% chance to draft top2.

Hughes is nowhere close to Patrick Kane

He's going to be one of the weaker 1OA picks in recent years

Agree and disagree,

No, he's (probably) no Patty Kane, but he's probably going to be shit load better than Hischier, Yakupov (obviously), RNH.
Cant compare to Ekblad because of positional differences, same with Dahlin + too early to tell still.
So i wouldnt say he's one of the weaker 1st overalls, i'd put him right in the middle, hes only behind MacKinnon, McJesus, and Matthews since 2011 imo.

inb4 Kakko picked 1st ovr

Did you look at their jr games? I did and yes they have some similar skills which is why i say he may be the next patrick kane. Maybe he wont become the next patrick kane (like i think he will due to their ressembling skills) but his scaling is pretty high

Nah he's Hischier lvl, maybe a bit better but I feel like he might have a hard time translating his game to the NHL

But I guess NHL is soft as fuck now so maybe not

hischier wasn't even hyped til later on in the year tho and it was a weak ass top draft year with nolan falling from 1 to 2 lol.
Hughes has better ppg in USHL than kane, eichel, kessel, keller etc. before entering the NHL, only matthews had better. (I remember a lot of ppl/scouts had doubts on matthews as a #1 oa pick that year too. Though, it's understandable cuz that year was deeeep) but yeh i get what u mean, hughes may turn out to be a huge bust or just not live up to the hype since not everyone succeeds in the NHL
