Captain Podkolzin lifts the Karjala Cup,
lead the tourney in points
can't wait for him to come to NA to develop asap.
He's like the perfect winger Horvat is looking for, a huge play driver, tedious to play against, plays a complete 200ft game, wins board battles like his life depends on it, amazing shot and passes etc.

A 2nd line that can score, hit and shut down the oppositions best.

What's not to like. Podz gets a chance to play big minutes and shines.

Askarov got a shutout in the game.

Looking like a good pick for Nashville.

Didn't he get stapled to the bench in the KHL tho?

Ya that has been the problem.

He was a 4th liner with limited playing time.

Covid hit his team then he get some increased play time and put up decent numbers. That has come and gone though.

Now I believe he has been sent down to the 2nd tier league.

I think it is a conflict of interest for the coaching staff there.

They know he has no desire to stay in the KHL long term.

Ye cuz they're being pity AF cuz he chose not to sign an extension to stay longer in the KHL.

They wanna develop other kids that are willing to stay, and not waste time on Podkolzin. Hence they broke up the kid line and stuck Pod on the 4th line. Despite all that, his eye test and analytics show him driving the play very well with the limited opportunity he is given. With his work ethic and nhl skills coach/staff, I can't wait to get him here so he can develop instead of wasting his time there

Lmao KHL is such a fucking joke. Coach be like ok ok.. He recently brought gold medal to our country , I'll play him on the top line.. Shit he scored 2 pts. He's not gonna stick around, and bolt off to NHL, I should sit him on the 4th line and make up a pity excuse to bench him.
