I do not think there is a fair way to address these issues...

Some teams will benefit, others will get screwed. No way around it.

As said earlier the teams that traded for rental players would get absolutely squat if nothing changes.

It is not like you can just roll back trades though so I think they are stuck.

not just the rentals
think about the prospects on 2 way deals ... teams burn a year off for this season? if therws no playoffs thats a big rip

The whole thing is a big rip, and there's nothing that can be done about that now.
I'd like to see the bottom teams helped out the most, that way the league would be more competitive as a whole
You may disagree because your team is near the top and you're hurting in a different way, but I'd like to see the quality of hockey increase overall

honestly i think the bottom teams should get the picks flyers have both won and lost on the lottery we got shafted outa kane and won patrick even if he is like permanently concussed
i know how it feels both ways being the the worst team in the league to just missing the playoffs and landing the same pick... it just doesnt feel right like ill take it gladly take it but it feels wrong
and our pools stocked up from hextalls time here so im not going to be like should be a 31 team lottery! ill take a later as a good team thats how it should be

as for my hurting yeah it sucks felt like flyers were about to go on a tear before the pause they were looking great hart was starting to play good on the road and ready to lock shit down

Assuming we get 3/4th pick and Lafreniere / Byfield go 1st, 2nd overall who would you guys want?

I'd say Tim Stueztel and Drysdale would be the best option. Another German to pair with Sieder or good defenseman moving forward.

stutzle, and drysdale would be good options, though i wouldnt take drysdale OVER stutzle.
Also could make a strong case for Rossi (120 points in 56 games), or Perfetti (111 points in 61 games), both guys have been tearing it up with stats similar to those of Lafreniere (112 points in 52 games).
and keep in mind they are doing it in the OHL which tends to have stronger defense and goaltending than the QMJHL where Lafreniere plays.

All of that and i havent even mentioned Holtz, Raymond, Lundel, or Askarov who project to be very solid NHL players.

The draft is loaded this year, so assuming all goes as it should we are in a very good place picking anywhere in the top 4 (5th wouldnt piss me off that bad but realistically however the nhl decides to handle it, we shouldnt be picking any lower than 4. Any lower than 5 though and i will be pissed lol)

Yeah they draft is pretty deep, You named all the other guys id had my eye on.

I wouldn't be against trading down for Askarov honestly, could use a goalie prospect

Rossi has the 4th highest ppg in the OHL over the last 10 years.
just behind McDavid, Kane, and Sam Gagner and ahead of guys like Marner (6th), Matthew Tkatchuk(8th), Hall(9th), Tavares(10th), Stamkos(14th), Seguin(17th).

So if i had to do a ranking for the wings specifically id go with
1. Lafreniere
2a. Stutzle
2b. Rossi
3a. Drysdale
3b. Byfield
4. Perfetti
5a/b. Raymond/Holtz

Askarov would come in about here on my ranking but only through a trade down scenario.
Maybe NJ would send 6th and 10th for 3rd or 6th and 17th for 4th.
But i certainly wouldnt be trading 1st or 2nd overall unless the name mcdavid is involved lol

I like Byfield being 6'4" long reach.
Can't see him not going top 2.
Rossi is only 5'9" so i assume he will drop like Caufield last year.
I think the wings can draft at worst 4th right?

Supposed to be 4th minimum, but we'll see what happens. Byfield is big, and is one of the younger players in the draft, so he has those two things going for him. Size doesnt necessarily mean too much anymore especially for forwards, look at guys like debrincat, only like 5' 7" or whatever and put up 40 goals last year. The smart teams realize this, and should be looking at guys for their skill and not over or under value based on size
