Supposed to be 4th minimum, but we'll see what happens. Byfield is big, and is one of the younger players in the draft, so he has those two things going for him. Size doesnt necessarily mean too much anymore especially for forwards, look at guys like debrincat, only like 5' 7" or whatever and put up 40 goals last year. The smart teams realize this, and should be looking at guys for their skill and not over or under value based on size

idk, going for big players was a huge (pun intended) part of someone winning a cup for the 1st time last year.

You mean a team that was actually in a position to win, added some big players for an added benefit....
We're the worst team in the league, we need to focus on skill and a whole hell of a lot more
Last in goals, most goals allowed... A few big men aren't going to change this program unless they're also super talented

I agree, but going strictly for big men is not the move for us

Without a doubt, i figure we already have mantha in our top 6, and several average sized guys like Larkin, Bertuzzi, up and coming Zadina. We do have Fabbri who is a little smaller, but he doesnt have the skill of Stutzle, Rossi, or Perfetti. I think we could really use a good skilled player regardless of size if we are taken out of the running for Lafreniere. Thats why im ranking them ahead of byfield. If we didnt already have Mantha playing in our top 6 id probably have him a little higher.

And yes, i know byfield is a center and mantha a winger, i just think we could a small skilled scoring forward over another big boy.

Bratstrom or whichever looks like a possibly promising goaltender.

Byfield is more skilled and bigger, passing on him for someone like Rossi would be insanity

Idk man, league is trending towards the fast skilled smaller guys again, wouldnt surprise me if one of these smaller guys like Stutzle, Rossi, or Perfetti jumped ahead of Byfield, especially if a team already has some bigger forwards on the roster.
Will it happen for sure? probably not. But it wouldnt surprise me if it did.
