and why is that?
i can give you lots of reasons we will be better how about you list why were going to suck other then " cause they did this year"
1. no yandle
2. ellis healthy
3. couts healthy
4.hayes healthy
5. with the throw away season this season we got to see which prospects can hang and should be able to fill out nice depth with them
6. adding a prospect with 5th overall or trading it for an asset
we had the 3rd most man games lost next to buf/mtl iirc and key players this teams going to be like a new team next season not the ahl call up squad they were his season
the only player to play full 82 games last season for philly was jvr lol

the only real downgrade is losing giroux but i assume hes going to be replaced in FA/trade

honestly though mostly just no yandle he played so fucking bad lol feels like every game he had like 5 misplays that resulted in grade A opportunities and they often times went in at least once a game

What's your feeling about goaltending?? Hart seemed to take a huge step in the wrong direction this year, tho like you said, the whole team struggled all year.

he looked a lot better then the year before so i think he took a step in the right direction the covid season really seemed to fuck with him this year he looked pretty good the team was just terrible defensively
he wasnt quite the stud hes shown he can be but he played pretty good for the most part he had some ups and down but hes 23 thats somewhat expected even vet goalies have some pretty bad streaks and this team was ass

im not that worried about goaltending hes still 23 has lots of promise most goalies are just hitting their prime around now

and since you aked about goaltending in general fedotov/sandstrom seem to be getting the chance to fight for the #2 which i like
sandstrom has looked decent he hasnt gotten a win yet but this season not many wins to be had by any goalie lol his first game in the nhl he made like a 46 save OT performance
fedotov is like a 5 year KHL vet that won silver at olympics so hes supposed to be pretty good but we will see how he adapts

We have Smith one more year. Keith and Smith will announce by july1 if they will continue playing next year or call it quits. Keith could fuck hawks over a bit but not like they need the cap room going into a rebuild anyway.

how would keith fuck the hawks over? i dont think there is recapture unless the contract was signed 35+ and he signed like a 10 year deal or something didnt he?
smith should retire but even if he doesnt 2.2 for a back up isnt THAT bad you guys can still go get a starter and have a decent back up

If Keith were to retire after the 21-22 season:

Blackhawks would have a 5.5m caphit in 22-23 and 2m caphit in 23-24

Oilers would lose his actual 5.5m caphit in 22-23 and instead would have a 3.4m negative caphit (cap savings), for a swing of 8.9mill.

Correct me if it's wrong

And of Smith retires were still put his 2.2mill. But can go get a goalie.

Holland goal this summer must be to convince Keith to leave 1.5mill on the table and retire lol

If Duncan Keith retired this summer, his $5.5M cap hit would be removed for the Oilers and they would get a $3.4M recapture cap credit (negative cap hit). The Blackhawks would have $7.5M of recapture cap hit, allocated as $5.5M in 22-23 & $2M in 23-24.

yep you're right,
also friedman reported that Smith is more likely to return than Keith.

I'm salivating at the thought of Keith retiring now.
