i honestly think fletcher would lose his fanbase instantly if he traded for talbot right now im like the moves he made are moves in the right direction but if he does that its a total 180 back in the wrong direction


Stolarz is frequently injured, so maybe they are looking for an insurance policy. I dont imagine the price for Talbot is that high considering his contract + play this year. They could potentially carry 3 goalies til the end of the year. It mainly depends on how Fletcher views the team and if he legitimately thinks this run is sustainable to get them into the playoffs.

we already have 3 goalies and 2 borderline nhl goalies in neuvy+mackenna if that was the case we could just keep and use them as the 3rd guy


unless were able to do like neuvirth+a 5th rounder or something i dont want talbot even if we do that i still dont really want talbot

Yeah I really dont watch enough Flyers hockey to know how good Neuvy/Mckenna are. I view Talbot as an upgrade to them and it wont cost them much. The Oilers need the cap space to bring Sekera back and I imagine the trade is likely Talbot+Pick for a cheap goalie.

I also might be over valuing Talbot because getting out of Edmonton will likely lead to improvement. Playing behind one of the worst defenses and in that toxic environment cant be good for confidence.

but is he an upgrade over stolarz+elliot as a 2-3? i mean there both pretty good have gotten hurt sure but elliots going to be a 3rd goalie not the #1 playing as often to get hurt
the flyers d has had issues of its own it seems to have improved slightly with a new coach but its probably not much better situation tbh
neuvirth is on IR atm and mackenna was a waiver claim with some nhl games but if its just a 3rd goalie mackenna could probably do fine

who do you guys see talbot bumping out in hart-stolarz-elliot trio? unless we get a pick+talbot for elliot or something and he becomes our 3rd goalie and we just take on rental cap for a pick

According to Darren dreger the return would be stolorz. Idk why philly would do this lol, I gotta assume we’d be sending talbot + ,maybe benning? He was just put on ir for tonight’s game with ubi. If we are considering sending any draft pick our management team should be frozen till further notice
