Wasn't before his value "tanked" isn't now.
Which is what DM believes. But in reality NBA FO's have proven time and time again they're not so short sighted.
See Philly's current GM himself. He's trying to make a contender for years. Not just a pretender for this year.

Teams are putting together solid packages. But Morey is refusing them all.
Currently it's looking like Embiid will demand a trade before Simmons is traded.

What is Simmons worth?

Simmons to the Nets this off-season in a S&T deal.

Nets either sign & trade for Simmons, or Harden walks for nothing. They'll gladly take a top 30 player at 25 years old in return instead of losing Harden for nothing.

I'm not digging up the post. But you said something similar about Lillard before this season started.



He's not worth a #1 option on a playoff team.
Which is what Morey wants.
Lets remember while Simmons accomplished and a great young player. He's not on the level of the asking price. Even before the mental gymnastics started happening.
DM and Philly keep making ultimatums for other teams.

Simmons is a flawed young player. He's not worth the top tier. Next level? Sure.
But ask yourself this. How many teams have a player just below the top tier nba talent?
How many teams attempt to trade those players for top tier talent. Offering said player, young talented prospects and multipule FRP?

Fanatics don't realize just how often these trade deals are offered for a team that is hovering around .500 or the playoffs.

Lillard would have to demand a trade, and the Trailblazers would have to agree with it. Would we love that? Absolutely, but it sounds like Lillard likes Portland.

If Harden wants to play in Philly, he can. He's a FA this off-season if he wants to be, and you best believe the Nets would take a 25 year old All-Star in return for him rather than losing him for nothing.

What if Harden wants to go to LA or Miami

Another thought... why would Nets help a conference rival get a former MVP in exchange for someone with so much baggage?

How exactly do the Lakers or Heat afford him? And who they giving up better than Simmons in a S&T?

I should have clarified that the Clippers could go after him. The Lakers don't have the flexibility or assets

The Heat would probably package Herro + Duncan to get Harden. They could have Lowry/Harden/Butler/Bam next year
