CJ is a flawed player but then again so is Simmons

I think CJ is a good fit next to Maxey, make Curry and Thybulle come off the bench. Then the real problem is Harris is so slow and shooting putridly while making a near max salary

Maxey
CJ
Harris
Niang
Embiid

Harris isn't play the 3.

He's not good there. He's a 4 and produces the most from there when he's the #3 option, not the #2 like he is right now.

Doesn’t Harris just get abused by 4s defensively? I also like Niang a lot so tried to tweak the starting lineup to include him

I think the 76ers should try to move off of Harris by giving up something to Orlando or OKC, clear cap space and try to add another piece or two in FA this summer / at the deadline

Not really, because todays NBA 4's aren't really that big and guys aren't bodying him and playing physical. He holds his own defensively against most 4's because he has good size.

His biggest weakness is his lateral quickness. Dude is an average at best NBA athlete and that's being generous lol. He's skilled, but he lacks NBA athleticism.

What’s your opinion is it worth giving up a pick / asset to get off his contract for flexibility?

I don't mind Tobias as much as some, as long as he's in the right role. If we get another star next to Embiid then Tobias is in an ideal spot.

Right now hes trying to do too much as a go-to guy.

I think a Simmons Harris for CJ Covington deal is realistic

Getting off Harris would be considered a win

“multiple sources, including people with direct knowledge of the teams thinking and also from rival teams involves on the Simmons front, tell The Athletic that the 76ers are believed to prefer to wait in order to pursue Harden or another superstar in the offseason and thus want to save Simmons for that potential sign-and-trade rather than take whats available on the current market.”

“Sacramento and Atlanta have been among the most engaged recently in talks on Simmons, sources said, but team officials with those organizations doubt the 76ers will lower the price threshold for Simmons before February 10th. The Charlotte Hornets have been among new teams placing a Simmons inquiry to the 76ers, but theres been nothing substantive, sources said.”

Why would hornets want Simmons? Imo they already have one of the best built and deepest rosters and is very strong at the guard position. They need inside bigs if anything.

They are one of the worst defensive teams in the league so maybe to improve that?

They wouldn't trade Ball or Bridges either so idk what trade would make sense for the Sixers, unless additional teams are included

Overall it doesn't make much sense
