A few episodes into S2. It's easy to watch. It's not bad but there are a few lazy bits of writing that make me roll my eyes.

Really like Ciri's training sequences. But I won't be happy if they use them as an excuse to make this teenager girl a swordmaster. Hopefully she develops some magic to make her combat abilities more believable.

Funny that when a girl gets off screen training she is a Mary Sue, and when her training is actually shown people also say it's stupid. Almost like there is a connecting factor...

A friend of mine mentioned this on discord last night. Ive heard good things but i never played any of the games.

Will this affect my experience or present any "who is he talking about?" moments

It's adapted from the books, not the games which are essentially unofficial sequels to the books.

Season 2 was great in my eyes, seen a lot of negative reviews from people saying they deviated too far from the source material, but it's to be expected.

Kaer Morhen is basically directly modeled after the games which is pretty cool to see if you've played them.

Half way through the season and really enjoying it. I really liked the ciri training parts, really showed how stubborn and driven she is.

You can play witcher 3 yes, its a great idea to understand witcher's lore. You shouldnt get spoiled that much, well, witcher 3 takes place after the books ending so you basicly know who survives or not, how they evolved. Its up to you
I sincerly think people that played the game enjoys it more than the contrary

Netflix should give Amazon tips. The Witcher is a masterpiece compared to WoT.

I liked season 2 a lot. the ciri and geralt character development throughout the season was great, especially ciri

spoilers below

the only thing I have a minor gripe with, or at least think it's a bit strange, is how evil they make a lot of the characters who supposedly are the 'good guys'. yennefer, triss, and vesemir all want to or attempt to murder ciri for purely selfish reasons. maybe it's closer to the books that all of these characters are assholes, but in the games (only witcher lore I'm familiar with) that would be completely outside of their characters
