With great thunder she passed from this realm. It was with some sadness and reflection that I released her soul. I sat at one of the two great tombs in this space, unable to move. What will I tell Kashya? I cannot help but feel the people of this land have begun to look to me for some kind of guidance; how am I to tell them that I am assuredly doomed to fail.

The exchange with Kashya was brief; I could see the tears welling in her emerald eyes. I left her to her grief; wisdom comes from such times.

A young maiden was assigned to me as some slave, such vileness. I will not allow her to be so condemned to death by my side. My bow has given her strength, if only to raise her eyes from the ground. She stares at it, as if knowing hell awaits her.

In astonishment, my staff had begun to vanish before my very eyes. Kashya may be more of an ally than I have considered.

I thought it wise to sort my wares, having found much plunder from the undead. The barbaric blade I had found was seared with markings of an eagle with great talons. Just as I gripped this new weapon with ghastly new mitts, I saw the last flickers of my staff as it faded into the void.

When the pale sun rose, I again went to the old man to get rid of my gold. His avarice will be his undoing. My thought was to explore the tombs amongst the burial ground. Given that my slave was bound to me, I could not see her venture forth so ill equipped. This fool has taken much gold for something so simple as this gown.

Suffering is to be mine, not hers; I will shield her from the beasts.

The crypts were filled with dangers, but this mere girl was not deterred. She confided that Kashya was indeed her blood sister.

Why has Kashya entrusted me with her kin? All that I know is that if allowed to perish; this maiden's death will ten-fold my suffering.

As we slew the last foes, the slave revealed her name to me. A dialect as this is strange to me, and I feel I may have insulted her with my awkward tongue.

She insisted that we cannot slumber in these tombs; I can agree that some plague would have come upon us in the darkness.

We spent the night leaning against tombstones of the departed. I felt a new zeal in having her by my side now. Though full of youth and fire in her eyes, I detect a great sadness in her soul, a mirror unto my own. I will not fail you Abhaya.

In the morn we returned to camp. Eyes were upon us. I had spent the twilight hours studying a few ancient writs which "fell" into my hands. My quest for knowledge is eternal, and I shall find the truth as sure as death itself.

We discovered new grounds, with stones I can somewhat recall from my past. My fragmented memories do not reveal themselves so easily. I can see only a blur, as if when you stand too close to a great painting and see only smudges of pigment before your untrained eyes.

I found a small blade, fate whispers that I will use it to defeat a great evil.

Before her eyes chanced up on it, I hid this garment until we could find a safe place. A clearing between trees, granite, and brush was all I could find. Alas, as Abhaya tries to hide it, I can see her shiver against the damp and cold of this strange world. It is the most my aching hands can do for her now.

Presented with this honor, she seemed almost ashamed. I can see this isn't the first time she laid eyes on this cloth, a fallen friend from Hades has sent them as patronage. Abhaya's eyes are sullen and tired; they need rest.

Again, a wretched passage, perhaps this one will yield a new horizon. Abhaya seems distant; I do not wish to burden her, and have said she is free to go. No matter, Her covenant with her sisters is deep as the oceans of Europa; she cannot abandon her honor.
