Hidden in the center square of this doomed village I chanced upon this dying man. When I set him free, I quickly gathered he was once a powerful sorcerer. His charisma and his intellect permeated the air; I must speak with him.

The old warlock told me many illuminating tales. I cannot know if he is to be trusted, but I will honor the truce we set forth.

The stench of that village had some rewards. I found a sturdy belt with ethereal qualities; it felt that some spirit was trapped within...suffering can be a powerful force.

To lift Abhaya's eyes from the ground, I presented her with a new bow. They lifted for just a moment as she nodded and left for her training exercises. Such youth, I feel she is lost in this realm of darkness.

The remainder of this once great forest was filled with creatures of the night. I believe we have slain them all: Abhaya and I rested in this grove of trees for the night. We had no fire and the night was bitter. Rest would not come to me; I half watched her slumber for a few hours while keeping an eye into the shadow.

We have awakened famished and our bones are bruised. Again, she muttered that we must move forward, that time is not on our side. I can agree; at this rate we shall surely perish in the marshes we have discovered.

The tar pits here burn your eyes and the foes are cunning. We will slaughter them all. Abhaya's eyes are swift, and her aim is a thing to behold.

There was once a tower of immense virtue built here, but below the earth the tortures of many lie. We will enter, though first I've told Abhaya that we cannot leave this other underground entrance unresolved.

Keep your eyes open and your senses keen Abhaya; we are venturing into a loathsome depth. Fear not.

This underground filth is haunting. Ghosts of the past have begun to break into this realm. No matter, we will find the locus of this evil.
