all these cultures' floods are mythical, like the flood in Genesis and in the Epic of Gilgamesh. Ti's video tries to somehow tie in Noah's flood as a rebuttal to a scientific argument (a mythical flood from a few thousand years ago vs the Miller–Urey experiment/4.5billion year old earth). the context is whats hilarious to me. i get a big kick out of people using religion to argue against science
I was more so asking you that don't natural disasters of epic proportion happen? Asteroid impact. Getting hit by a quasar. Massive CME. Pole shift.
&&& by the way EVERY culture on EVERY continent talked of a great flood so I don't know why you are pulling the myth card when it's historical fact.
The poles reverse and if you chart where the north pole/south pole were 12,000 years ago and 26,000 years ago it makes more sense. It also shows how ancient structures were aligned to stars as they were seen then and only in the last 100-200 years have we been able to do that and go, "oh that's why they were aligning their structures this way" because back then the poles were in different spots.
If the dinosaurs were wiped out from a single asteroid impact then is it really a stretch to say "Atlantis" or some pre-diluvian humanoids were wiped out by something similar?
A single super volcano eruption(Yellowstone for example) would basically kill most life on Earth and they happen in cycles. Every "x" amount of years they erupt.
So with all the intelligence we have today. All the modern marvels. Could be gone in the blink of an eye. That's why our ancestors warned us. "Hey guys every now and then something really terrible happens so be ready".
edit: Our ancestors showed in the best symbols they had to convey such things. Now "modern science" says ALL of those things happen. No if/ands/buts about it. Not a matter of IF but a matter of WHEN.
So yea they worshipped nature gods and sacrificed animals/humans to appease those imaginary "gods" they gave names too because the POWER of nature is the POWER of God.
This is all historical fact. Mythology back then is what science is today we just have better tools to make sense of it all.
Doesn't negate an asteroid from ruining our little "human evolution".
