I think the anti-Trump label has sort of lost all meaning. Multiple cabinet members of his have called him a moron or an idiot, his current chief of staff called him a terrible person, his current secretary of state called him an authoritarian, his former defense secretary resigned in protest the first time Trump wanted to abandon our allies. It's an open secret in Washington that the vast majority of Republican politicians can't stand the guy. Outside of complete sycophants in government or the media, and his most loyal cultists, basically everybody is anti-Trump at least to some degree. The joke used to be reality has a well known liberal bias... it's true to say that reality has a well known anti-Trump bias.

You might be right. Now, the absolute key question is: how much does the other side have to suck for this guy to still be considered the lesser of two evils by almost half the country, far beyond the ranks of his devout "cultists"?

I think these people just want to feel what it's like to win...they get that with Trump.

Bernie would have won, all that shit coming out on clinton at once was an avalanche.

I'm not so sure about Bernie winning. I actually think that Clinton was the stronger candidate despite all her flaws and scandals, her campaign just made some crucial strategical mistakes. Bernie, on the other hand, had a platform, personality and coalition which were more "naturally" positioned to hold the EC against Trump.

Imho, the question how a Bernie vs Trump race would have played out in 2016 is one of the big "what if"s. We'll never know.

Bernie would have kept almost all the democrat votes because no one wanted trump, he would have kept the bernie bro voters who ditched hillary in droves when her corruption came out and he might have got the lazy teenagers out too.

We dont know if Bernie would have appealed to moderates and swing voters. We dont know which opposition research the Trump campaign had on him, we dont know how much traction Trump's attacks on him would have gotten.

Bernie can't win in this country because he's too far to the left. He's getting his ass handed to him in the Democrat primary too.

Most Bernie Bros (85%+) voted for Hillary. Bernie being the candidate puts states like Virginia and Colorado into play for Trump. A socialist would also increase Republican voter turnout by a large margin. A lot of Republicans refused to vote for either Trump or Hillary because they knew that Hillary would just keep the status quo. Sanders? That's a death sentence. They would have come out for Trump in droves.

Hillary was super hated by Republicans. I dont think youre going to motivate Republicans to vote any harder than by running Clinton

Also a lot of Bernie's far-left policies really speak to the Lower Class People who vote not based on actual policy but on a gut feeling of who they think has their back. Like it or not Bernie resonated with those kinds of people
