i can see why you'd think that from across the pond.

but when i drive to work i see no less than 100, yes one fucking hundred, yards with trump flags or trump signs. i see maybe 2 biden signs.

So? Iirc, you live in rural(-ish) Wisconsin, which should of course be a good Trump area. But all it takes is one large suburb trending against him to offset 100 rural towns...
Furthermore, yard signs have never been a good predictor of elections. In 2012, there was also constant talk about how there are soooo much more Romney than Obama signs, but Obama still defeated him handily in the end.
Specifically regarding 2020: a lack of Biden signs doesnt mean a lot, since a big share of the votes he's gonna receive are votes against Trump more than they are votes for Biden. Biden doesnt need to close the enthusiasm gap as long as enough voters are energized and motivated by casting their vote against Trump.
